Audition Requirements:
Sign up for an audition time on the outside door of the music room.
Be 15 minutes early for your audition and wait in the Music Annex where you may warm-up and practice.
Auditions: Friday September 25th 3-8 pm, Saturday September 26th 9 am to 3 pm
Listen to your audition song(s) on the website. Read through them on the song sheetsso that you are very familiar. Sing along with the full version (includes the voice part) and then practice with the karaoke version (instruments only, no voice part) so you get used to singing them like you will in the audition. We will use the karaoke version in the audition with or without a microphone.
Be prepared to act out a small scene with one of the auditioners. We may give you some lines to read at the audition but not before.
Memorizing the songs will prepare you better and impress the auditioners than if you are reading everything and it seems unfamiliar to you. You can watch some really good videos on youtube if you search under the words sound of music London 2006 and visit the production site at http://www.planetmall.ca/som/index.php
On our website I have put links to each of the songs for our auditions – full and karaoke versions as well as a nice recording of the recent London show whcih provides a great vocal model for you to emulate..
